Water Distribution Networks: Planning, Design, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting
ecord

Course Objectives

Water distribution network is one of the most essential utilities of an urban town planning. Engineers who are interest for such facilities should have Knowledge Management (KM) prior planning and design phases of such projects. Design of Water Distribution Network (WDN) includes step by step modeling for different hydraulic components ( Reservoirs, tanks ,pumping stations, pipes, valves , nodes , junctions) by the aid of famous software in the field. Operation of WDN and associated control philosophy will be illustrated and discussed through the present course with customization for participants background and or their field utilities. Case studies will be also included to explain the different maintenance and troubleshooting techniques related to WDN. Problems like design mistakes, abnormal operation , leakage , low pressure , high pressure , insufficient flow associated with WDN will be investigated. Introduction to EPANET2 , WaterCAD & InfoWater  will be presented. Upon course completion participants will be familiar with WDN planning , modeling , operation , maintenance and troubleshooting added to knowledge gain from case studies .

Course language

  • will be Bilingual (English/Arabic)

Who Should Attend

  • Operation engineers , maintenance engineers , technical office engineers , technicians
